keep learning with gcc, then worry about the pspsdk later. its very important to develop your skills on the pc first before moving to psp. like i said before, learning to program on the psp is like learning math with calculus.

i understand the analogy because i am studying medicine at uni and i have to pass a calculus course before i can move up to third year and i didnt learn any math past primary school so i really am learning maths by starting with calculus and its not just difficult (its completely impossible)

but i have completed my c++ book that i learnt with now and just wanted to step up
sometimes impatience can be a virtue :D

but i will take your advice for the time being and read through the website m0skit0 recommended for c++ and practice a bit more
however... :D
in the immortal words of arnie... ill be back
but anyway i hope i dont sound rude and cheers for the advice and the tutorial

if you're comfortable with c++ then why not try your hand at c?

that is what i was thinking of doing also
but i wanted to maybe try with the knowledge i have before learning a new language
i know c and c++ can be similar and if i know c++ i should be able to learn c quite easy
but i like to follow alot of what m0skit0 says (he doesnt know it but i really look up to him and usually take his word as scripture) :)
bruteforced101 wrote:C++ is pretty much C in concept plus with more stuff added to it... :D
m0skit0 wrote: Wrong!
:D this is my favourite
so it kind of is like learning a new language but i might take a look at learning c
i just didnt want to confuse myself and maybe mix up some things

thats a good idea. stick with c++ until you're comfortable with it, then you can consider learning c. good luck ;)

Trust me, you don't need PSPSDK yet. Keep on with C++ on PC. When you feel you got it (and when I mean "got it", I mean in at least real 400 hours of practice), you can tackle PSP or other console or machine or whatever, because if you know C/C++, you can program almost any machine out there because C/C++ is probably the most ported compiled language.

ok ill do that. you havent led me astray so far.
but i just have one more noob question.
if i make sure i use linux, eclipse, gcc and possibly 3ds max and create a game on the pc would i definitely be able to port it to psp eventually one day?
well maybe not definitely but highly likely?
