How do Exploits work?

Postby 10$man » Fri Jan 06, 2012 9:51 pm

Before I get off on a bad foot with the true hackers and crackers, I would like to say, I am not asking for you to do anything for me or for a long tutorial and a free walk through.

Alright, I have been interested in exploits for a long time. About a year ago I asked for help making a TIFF exploit. I got pretty far but nothing to show for it. What I really want to know is How I would be able to exploit a PSP or even something older like a GB or GBA.
Is there any great website for this type of cryptography and hacking?
I would be very appreciative of any kind of resources or links!
Thank you.

TiPi just published a nice tut concerning exploits on the psp:
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=9753

all consoles are different. the theories are all the same, but how they are executed will vary depending on the console. if you'd like to learn a little about exploiting in general, TiPi's tut is a good start, as well as the security related articles on wololo's blog.

as for learning to exploit other devices, it requires an intimate knowledge of the internal working of the console itself, not just something that can be picked up and done quickly.

also, moving.
