[Tutorial] duplicate PSP bubbles

Post by qwikrazor87 »

This tutorial is targeted for people on 3.5X.
Make a backup of all your PSP games and content (Vita games/content won't be affected) to your PC from your Vita.
Using the MajorGas email trick, extract __sce_ebootpbp from your base game, for your EBOOT.PBP, you can download the pkg for it and grab it from there, Google is your friend.

So if you wanted to take it from Apache Overkill US, this would be the path:
  • ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPUZ00098/__sce_ebootpbp.
ePSP path:
  • ms0:/PSP/GAME/NPUZ00098/__sce_ebootpbp.
Here is an HTML example of what to send in the email trick:
  • <a href="email:send?attach=ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPUZ00098/__sce_ebootpbp.">ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPUZ00098/__sce_ebootpbp</a>
Once you have the above done, we will need to use SMOKE's PSP-Installer to make new folders in /PSP/GAME/, beware, this trick erases everything in /PSP/GAME/.
Download the files necessary in the tutorial linked below, don't follow it just yet.
http://wololo.net/2015/09/28/ps-vita-re ... firmwares/
You should have downloaded a file called PSP-INSTALLER.7z, or similar, inside you should see PSP-INSTALLER/PSAVEDATA/PSP-INSTALLER/.
Drag and drop the PSP-INSTALLER folder with PARAM.SFO and p/ folder inside to your savedata folder on your PC.
Your savedata folder should be located at ~/PS Vita/PSAVEDATA/(junk)/, so here is what you should end up with:
  • ~/PS Vita/PSAVEDATA/(junk)/PSP-INSTALLER/PARAM.SFO
Go into the p/ folder, and you should see a folder called 0000, make your new folders alongside that one, drag and drop EBOOT.PBP and __sce_ebootpbp into those new folders, then transfer the PSP-INSTALLER save to your Vita, and follow the tutorial linked above.
If everything works out with that tutorial, power off Vita and restore the database for the new PSP bubble duplicates to appear.
Make a backup of those duplicate bubbles from your Vita, and you can use them for pboot bubbles or whatever.
I haven't tested this method myself, but I'm almost certain that it'll work.

If you want to make the pboot bubbles with this method, you can place the PBOOT.PBP into those folders too before transferring PSP-INSTALLER save.
Edit:
Updated post with an HTML example of how to extract __sce_ebootpbp.

It is possible to do this without "game that have an update"? And what will be duplicate's bubble id?

the correct extract __sce_ebootpbp. HTML is
"email:send?attach=ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPUZ00098/__sce_ebootpbp.",
not "email:send?attach?ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPUZ00098/__sce_ebootpbp."
Blablabla..

You can try using the PSM runtime package update from the system settings (delete it if already installed) and for the bubble ID just keep it the same as the original but change the last few numbers so they are all different from each other.

It doesn't work for me :/ As base I've used Ape Quest (NPEG00005) and Update for PSM Runtime Package - PSP_Installer itself works (download list changed to 5007kb) but after database rebuilt there are no new bubbles (+ as you said base game dissapear)

Last page of my Live Arena with installed bubbles:

BUT installed titles appears in CMA:

So I've copied them to PC, deleted from Vita and tried to copy back from PC to Vita but at the end of copying vita give me an error C0-11274-5 (even after another database rebuild). Any ideas what can be wrong?

This if my PSP_Installer directory setup:

In all those folders i have:

EBOOT.PBP (EBOOT with homebrew)
__sce_ebootpbp (file dumped from Ape Quest)

EBOOT.PBP must be the official PSN game. You can use homebrew as PBOOT.PBP.

So how can I copy Ape Quest's EBOOT.PBP to my PC? Emailing ~200MB file? I have ony 4GB card for now so another useless 200mb or more must be used for another bubble in my case? Or maybe can I somehow sign homebrews as officiall PSN game?

PSP-INSTALLER/p/SomeFolder/EBOOT.PBP <- official PSN eboot
PSP-INSTALLER/p/SomeFolder/__sce_ebootpbp <- license of some sort
PSP-INSTALLER/p/SomeFolder/PBOOT.PBP <- homebrew here
Just transfer it through the PSP-INSTALLER save.
