PS3 Harddrive samsung spinpoint 2TB

Post by cambromo »

I did some semi research on this, most websites say that it works fine with PS3, or don't mention it doesn't work with the PS3.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-9-5mm-S ... +drive+2tb
None of the customer reviews mention it doesn't work with the ps3 and the product description even says it works with it.
Am I missing something here or what? Why does my PS3 say it's incompatible? Is there a workaround?
It's a SECH-3003A by the way.

its fine. 2.5' (laptop size) will fit in ps3

Just check the dimensions – not more than 9.5mm tall

(yours 9.5mm)

That's not the issue, it's a PS3 thing, I've already plugged it in, there's a data cap on the PS3 I wasn't aware of, I could have sworn I've seen HDD's larger than this though, is there a workaround to make it work?

Mine is 1tb only. What u mean by data cap? how much is missing

Edit: seems like 1tb is limit (internal)

2tb seems to work with usb

So, either get adapter to use the HDD as usb, or stay with the cap
