If that was the case, we would have done it already by now. It is imposible, since Sony has locked the system farther than superglue and ancient greek chains together on top of an incredibly tiny adamantium box.
I'm just your average Seong. Move along, nothing to see here...

The simple answer is that we don't have a decompiler or debugger to test or understand what the PSV is doing, even if we find a crash. PSP exploits are easy to find because we have this capability. If we knew what was going on when finding a crash in the Vita firmware or a Vita game, it might be possible to get a useful exploit. But chances are it would be usermode/stuck within the game, at first, since the Vita has multiple layers of security. Presumably someone especially skilled will do all of this manually, without a debugger, but it's not the sort of thing that a non-expert could pick up. Also I wouldn't be surprised if it required multiple Vitas so as to tap into the circuits inside the Vita, but that is probably extremely hard due to the small size, and would therefore be both extremely expensive and extremely difficult. And it's not like we can do a kickstarter to hack the Vita, because any person or group with the qualifications would either be busy or unwilling to risk legal action for such a goal. (i.e. being paid to break into a proprietary system, possibly making them knowingly responsible for subsequent piracy or more likely the intellectual property theft in their end product)

Not this again..... If you have no idea of the system then all you can do is speculate. Speculation threads doesn't belong in this section.

Code: Select all

sceKernelTerminateThread(this);
Plugin list
Working on: QPSNProxy, QCMA - Open source content manager for the PS Vita
Playing: Error: ENOTIME
Repositories: github, google code
Just feel the code..
