Possible to exploit PS1 games?

Hi there, I was wondering if the PS games on PSN now are running on the Vita itself or through the PSP emulator?
If it is through the PSP emu (which seems likely), would it be possible to carry over any known exploits to install VHBL?

They would have most likely been patched already. But yes you probably could.

Its not through the psp emulator because if it was then we probably would of been able to play from day 1. You also know its not through psp because it has different type of option menu.

If you were to exploit through ps1, wouldnt you be exploiting ps1 homebrew instead of vita/PSP? Thats basically what vhbl is. Playing psp homebrew through a psp hack but your doing it on a vita

actually guys its just pops from the PSP emulator ;)

yes that is right when you play PS1 games on the Vita you are running a emulator within a emulator

it would be pointless to exploit them BTW
(afaik even less access then PSP games)

Thats correct and i have to agree you, even if we yould exploit the popsloader inside of the psp emu, we would be in a sandbox within a sandbox, we would be one step further to the vita than with the psp emu exploits.

If there are other options available when holding the touch screen, it strongly hints the psp-emu is launched differently.
In general, low-level emulation within low-level emulation gives bad performance. Who knows what the "clock freq" would
be set at for the psp-emu to compensate for this? That could be interesting for starters, if one could break back out into
the psp-emu :) (If it even is normal pops inside the full low-level psp-emu used for ps1 games on Vita. Would make more
sense to translate at least some of the calls directly up to the same API psp-emu talks to, at least for performance)

eh ? no its just pops, albeit a modified pops but still just pops from the PSP
BTW with kernel access you have full control of it thats how I know ;)

Perhaps they did this so that everything was limited to PSP exploits, rather than making a separate Vita PS1 emulator that could potentially open an extra security holes?
