Help: Emulator crash?

Post by SlimJim » Wed Jul 16, 2014 12:06 am

Hi, I'm new to the psp hacking scene.

I recently purchased a used PSP 2000 that does not have an "unhackable" motherboard.

-PSP was Firmware 6.60 at default
-Installed PRO CFW, firmware now 6.60 PRO-C2
-Installed s9xTYLmecm 091127 mod r23 (opens all the time after fast recovery)

The major problem that came up, was that anytime I highlight a rom I want to play, the psp freezes, stays where it's at for a few seconds, then crash-turns off with a popping sound.

-Installed an UNZIPPED .smc rom; crash
-Installed a ZIPPED .smc rom; crash
-Installed an UNZIPPED .sfc; crash
-I doubt the zipped variant can fix the above

So, does anyone have any ideas? Thank you for your time.

Have you installed any plugins? Have you changed any settings in the Recovery or VSH menus? Have you changed any of the settings in the emulator? What ROMs have you tried?

Also, here's the latest version. That might also fix your problem. I haven't bothered looking through the changelog to see if the revision you're using might have problems.
