psp dns error (with 1 router, another works)

Post by toBsucht »

Hi here i´m with another problem and another question.

I used an easybox-router to conect my psp. Now, if i conect psp get dns-error so i reset the router (new wifi settings).. updated/downgrade my psp all doesn´t fix it.
Than i plugged in my old fritzbox into the easyboy and setup the new conection  my psp now load websites.
That´s the reason why i called my internet-provider to exchange the "defect" once.
Today i got it exchanged but i still get dns-error any solution?

Thanks

That's either a problem in the address you're trying to open or from the ISP (Internet Service Provider). In that case it's mostly a domain problem than an ISP one.

There was a problem with my PSPs & of my friends'; they connected to my router after a long time. But when I changed my router encryption from WPA-PSK (TKIP) to WPA-PSK (AES), my 2 PSPs & my brother's PSP started connecting to the router immediately. I don't know if that's related to your problem but I have a question:
Does your PSP connect to the router but no internet or it doesn't connect at all?

Conecting to router (easybox) "don´t" work - if i pass the ip check i get the dns error.
I switched from PSK -TKIP to -AES without success also i tryed to use custom wifi canal etc. but i doubt that´s my psp since the old fritzbox works.
I hope i don´t have to pay for the useless router exchange

If you think it's your PSP then try connecting another PSP to the router & see if it works. If yes, that's your PSP. If not, it's the router or ISP...

It´s for sure not the IPS because 2nd router works fine?!^
I don´t own a 2nd psp :) to buy one for testing is to expensive. Thinking i test the new router via pc and wifi soon. Thanks anyway!

You can borrow a friend's PSP. BTW did you test your new router, or not yet?

No!
I conected my pc to the router and the www via wifi ..psp still faild (dns error)
.. i better don´t ask my ips for a router exchange again.
The crazy is that I can use the internet with my psp with another router  I guess i'm just too stupid

What encryption are you using, and have you made any changes to the DNS settings of the router?
I have an easybox router as well, and it hasn't given me any such trouble so far.
Also, when you connect to it, can you open the router config on 192.168.2.1?

I use wpa tkip also failed via aes or wep. I didn´t changed dns @ the router i tried to use a free dns server with my psp.
The tip to check if i´m conected to easy.box=192.168.2.1 is helpful because it seems that psp isn´t... but psp display conecting to access point than pass ip allocation.

Wait, so the PSP says it's connected to the router, but the router doesn't list it as a connected device? If that's the case, the problem is with the PSP (and I have no idea how to fix it).
