I like the sound of the new features.

I apologize for not having reported my experiences yet or filling out the questionnaire - I've been pretty busy. I'll just make a quick list and add to it:
  • Positive
  • Music - This I really enjoyed to the point where I left the client running while doing other things. For me, BGM is a massive thing when it comes to games, and I loved both the music on the game and log in screens
  • Map - It's very nice so far. Looking forward to it being a bit bigger though
  • Translation - The English translation from what I saw was perfect. This was a major bonus for me as I can sadly only talk English.
  • PVP - This was very fun. At first I spent my time roaming around looking for something to kill, then after a while I decided to attack another player who was online who then retaliated, and as others logged in they joined. It was this massive pvp skirmish and I really, really enjoyed that. I can really understand why you compared it to Zelda. The PVP really felt like the violent Zelda counterpart where you got to beat people over the head with NES controllers
  • Negetive
  • Running - Run energy depletes way too fast and restores a little too slow. It's 10% per second while running, and 2% restoration if I recall correctly. This I found to be a little too much while exploring, though while attacking other players it was a lot more balanced
I have nothing else negative to say really, as all my other gripes seem to have been dealt with. I found no bugs, so overall I was incredibly satisfied.

Hi,
I am sorry but the game is still in development and the new features you see are not exaustives.
While developing the game, the environment is not stable and it wont be a nice idea to get involved in it.

An 2nd alpha test session will be launched in few months. If you register to the web site when it will be available, you will receive newsletters about coming alpha and beta.
Thanks ;)

Thanks, We are doing our best to give players a nice retro game in zelda style.
As concerns running, I have divided per 2 the amount of energy consumed and multiplied per 2 the rate of recovery so that you won't run out of energy too fast.

:D

Having a forum is good, but here's my 2 cents.
  • have the forums be available to read by the public. I usually read a game's forum to find about possible issues it may have (ex. gold spammers, balance issues, end-game content, pvp nonsense) before making my account there at all.
  • I'm not sure what system you're using, and it could be me liking phpbb, but I'd strongly recommend phpbb over this. Once you start getting more threads, this will turn into a complete mess, I believe.
If I remember correctly, a browser game that D1 once told us about had a similar forum. It was a mess with about 20 registered users.
  • give the forum a decent URL. Something along the lines of forum.jiun.net, or jiun.net/forum.
  • What do you mean by "Ads" in the first section? Shouldn't that be "Announcements"?
  • Your newsletter was a wall-o-text, you need to work a bit on it. Also, will you only be sending it out in French? Possibly, a language selection can be added to the profile.
And here's a random idea: will I be able to view my character(s) from the account page on the website? I don't mean via an applet, but similar to how phpbb user pages are done.
Anyways, nice to hear from you, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the advice, in fact, it would be nice to access it in read only mode without being logged in.

We are using a lightweight custom built forum engine. It should work fine even if there are a lot of people using it.

Thanks, in fact we were talking about it yesterday and we will fixe it soon.

Nothing. The web developper forgotten that point about translation. Yes it is 'Announcements'. I am going to tell him that issue right now, thanks for reporting it.

WIP... We have also to do a background for the newsletter. The first newsletter you received was a 'fail', you may have received a new one a bit a later?
Langage selection when registering and when managing your account is also planned, thanks :)
And here's a random idea: will I be able to view my character(s) from the account page on the website? I don't mean via an applet, but similar to how phpbb user pages are done.
You will be able to get an overview of your characters from the account page (name, step and overview)
Anyways, nice to hear from you, keep up the good work.
Thanks, it is the same for me.

Now that I checked, yes, I did. Gmail thought it was spam. >.>
Yes, I believe you have more work to do when it comes to newsletter looks.

Neat. Curious, are you going to call levels steps in the final version as well?

Yes it will be definitivly called step.'Échelon' in french.
Well I don't know why the newsletter has gone to your spam. Maybe because the address is newsletter@jiun.net... although the first one was jiun@jiun.net.
