How to install Permanent CFW/HEN on TA-088v3, 3000, and Go

Post by alevisawesom » Fri May 02, 2014 3:03 am

DISCLAIMER: This method WILL brick some devices. It is NOT as reliable as installing LCFW. I HIGHLY recommend using LCFW instead. This will NOT work on certain 3000s and any E1000s. Also, PSN will no longer work (only tested with TN-E, not PRO or LME)

Hi guys,

Today I'll be showing you how to install permanent CFW on an unhackable 2000, 3000, or Go. First off, you'll need a couple files:

OFW 6.20: Google it.
PRO-C2 unofficial: http://ftp.wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=34403 (make sure to download the 6.20 version)
Alternate if you prefer ME CFW like I do: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=38203 MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD LME AND NOT ME

If you just don't like or can't use PRO/LME for some reason, use these files as well as the 6.20 update:

TN-E HEN: http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/1262
TN-E PPATCH: http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/showth ... ?tid=27961

If your current OFW is over 6.20, then you'll also need the Chronoswitch downgrader: http://www.wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/949

Copy the UPDATE, PROUPDATE, FastRecovery, PPATCH, and the Chronoswitch downgrader folders to /PSP/GAME, or of you're using LME, copy the same things, but replace the PRO files with the LME installer, launcher, and PPATCH (when it's done). (If you're using TN-E, copy UPDATE, TN_HEN, PPATCH, and the Chronoswitch downgrader.)

Plug in your PSP to the AC adapter, and charge it over 76%.

If you're using a PSP 1000:

Go away and use 6.61 PRO cIPL or ME-2.3.

If you're using a PSP 2000:

Install a LCFW/HEN (either PRO, LME, or 6.60 HEN), copy this:
PSPIdent: http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/1286
to /PSP/GAME, and run it.
If the "Motherboard version" displayed is "TA-088v3" or "TA-88v3" move on with this tutorial.
If it's anything other than that, go away and use 6.61 PRO cIPL or ME-2.3.

If you're using a PSP 3000:

Copy this:
PSPIdent: http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/1286
to /PSP/GAME. Run it. If it displays your module being "07g", go away and use PRO LCFW or LME-2.3.

If your model is 09g and you're on a PSP 3000:

1. Look up your FuseCFG via PSPIdent.
2. If your FuseCFG is: 0x00002A00, you can downgrade your PSP by Davee’s Chronoswitch Downgrader v5.0f.
3. If your FuseCFG is 0×00003300, 0x00003B00 or other, download pre-downgrader-fix, install and press X.
pre-downgrader-fix: http://psdev.ru/wp-content/uploads/2012 ... er-fix.zip
4. After using PRE-Downgrader, you can use Davee’s Chronoswitch Downgrader v5.0f for downgrade.

Also, you have to install this plugin into your PSP before you run the downgrade, even on OFW. To install it, just copy the seplugins directory to the root (folder where you cannot go back into any other folders) of the Memory Stick. VSH, GAME, and POPS txt files are included.
For this plugin to work, your CPU clock GAME must be 222/111 or Default. Don't overclock it.
If you don't install this plugin, your device will freeze every time you try to put it into sleep mode.

Thanks to Wolfmade for important information about 09g PSPs!

If you're using a PSP Go:

Continue on with the tutorial.

If you're using a PSP E1000:

Go away and use PRO LCFW or LME-2.3.

If you were told to continue by one of the previous steps:

If your current firmware is over 6.20:

Keep the adapter plugged in, and run the Chronoswitch downgrader. Some stuff will pop up, press X, then press X again. Wait about 30 seconds to 1 minute, and the 6.20 update should appear. Agree to everything, and wait. Once you're done, press X and wait for it to reboot. It will display the bootscreen, and then give... a blue screen of death. DO NOT PANIC. Just press O, and let it reboot. Put your settings back in, and check your version. You should now be on OFW 6.20. You may now delete Chronoswitch and the 6.20 update from your memory stick.

If your current firmware is below or is 6.20:

Upgrade to 6.20 or just continue.

If you used PRO and not TN-E/LME:

Run the PRO update program. If it says "This program is incompatible with your FW", you didn't download the 6.20 version of UO PRO-C2. Once the program opens, press X, wait about 3 seconds, then press X again when it prompts you to. The PSP will reboot; go to Settings -> System Settings -> System Information. It should say "6.20 PRO-C2". Now run the PRO Permanent Patch. Once it opens, press X, wait for another prompt, and press O. Then press X. You now have permanent CFW on your unhackable PSP!

If you used LME and not PRO/TN-E:

Run the "LME installer for 620". Wait, then press X. It should install, then reboot. Run "LME Launcher for 620". You are now in LME CFW. There is no Perma Patch for this yet, however it is being worked on, and once it is complete I will update this tutorial accordingly.

If you decided to use TN-E for some reason:

Run "TN Homebrew Enabler". The PSP will reboot. Then, go into PSP -> System Settings -> System Information. It should say "Version 6.20 TN-E". Go into TN Settings. If the PSP freezes, take out the battery, put it back in, and use this alternate version of the HEN:
TN-E Fix: http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/showth ... ?tid=26549
Once you're in TN settings, go to the 2nd-to-last option, "Protect Flash0". Disable that. Then, run the "TN-E Permanent Patch". Press X, then O when it prompts you to test, then exit the program when it prompts you. Congratulations, you now have a permanent HEN on your unhackable PSP!

TN-E notes:

TN-E cannot run ISOs, CSOs, DAXs, JSOs; anything. You have to install the aLoader plugin:
http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/938
Look up how to install a plugin, as that is beyond the scope of this tutorial.

If it displays your module being "07g" or "09g", go away and use PRO LCFW, LME-1.8, or 6.60 HEN.
09g's can downgrade to 6.20 and install 6.20 Perma patches. Please fix your guide.

Thanks Wolfmade! Do you mind if I use that information in the tutorial?

Not at all! I'm glad that I helped. :)

But the sleepfix plugin is important. Your PSP will crash if you try to put it to sleep if you don't have that plugin activated.
