Deactivating a system you don't own anymore.

Post by yelever »

Just got myself a PS TV with 3.20 and went to transfer via PS3 and got a message that I have too many portable devices and need to deactivate one. I don't own them anymore. Anyway getting around this without updating??

Qwikrazor you can't do that --
You have to contact Sony support to deactivate any systems you don't own.
And you can only do it once every six months (edit: six months, not one year sorry)
I thinks its really stupid but thats how they do it :\

Also Qwik, sorry I accidentally reported your post :P Sorry mate, I accidentally hit report instead of quote not realizing it, I am really tired. Sorry. lol...

actually, you can deactivate every 6 months AND you can do it from a PC, but you must deactivate ALL devices(also once per 6 month)

Account->Media and Devices->Deactivate All(<--will only be present if you haven't deactivated in 6+ months)

That's not the full truth, I think.

yelever didn't say that he/she want to deactivate only PSVita Systems.
In case of too many PSPs, he/she can deactivate one system in the psn account.

@yelever: Which device will you deactivate?

just my 2 cents

huh, I've never seen a deactivate all link or button on my SEN account anywhere. I've always had to contact support, and sorry it is every 6 months not a year.
But I've always had to contact support either by phone or chat. :\

yeah, as stated above, the deactivation option doesn't show if you've recently deactivated your devices, which I haven't done in a while and on my account and the deactivation buttons are there.

You can only do the "deactivate all" option once every 6 months.

If doing it from a PC, you MUST deactivate all because if you select your device individually, you get step by step instructions on how to deactivate from the device itself. You cannot pick and choose which device to deactivate unless you still have the device in your possession. Even when you call customer support, THEY also deactivate all your devices. :o
