---------------------------------------------------------
I: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
---------------------------------------------------------
Q: What is the Playstation Vita?
A: The Vita (pronounced Vee-tah) is the second entry from Sony into the handheld gaming market. It was announced at a conference in January 2011 under the codename 'NGP', or Next Generation Portable. During E3 2011 it was given the official title of Playstation Vita, the PSP's official successor, as well as a price tag.

Q: How much will the Vita cost?
A: The Wi-Fi model will cost $249 USD, 249 Euros, or 24,980 yen. The 3G model will cost $299 USD, 299 Euros, or 29,980 Yen.

Q: Is there a release date for the Vita?
A:Currently, the Playstation Vita is set to launch on December 17th, 2011 in Japan, and February 22nd in North America/Europe. There is also a bundle currently available that will be released a week early (February 15th) in the United States and Canada.

Q: What does the bundle include?
A: In North America the bundle contains the Playstation Vita (3G), Little Deviants, a carrying case, and a 4gb memory card. It runs $359 USD. The Canadian version is the same bundle, but costs $50 less and contains the Wi-Fi model instead of the 3G.

Q: What is the 3G model you keep mentioning?
A: Alongside the basic Wi-Fi model, Sony has decided to release a Vita with 3G capabilities. The 3G model MUST go through AT&T, and anyone that wishes to use the 3G feature must pay a monthly service fee. Additionally, the 3G cannot be used for gaming, but rather for the numerous social features that the Vita comes with.

Q: Will the Vita use memory cards? Can I use my memory sticks from my PSP?
A: The Vita uses a new proprietary memory format. You can not use your old memory sticks on the Vita. Most games will not require a memory card to be played, however, this decision is at the sole discretion of each game's developer. Some games, such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, require a memory card to be able to play.

Q: What size memory cards can I buy, and how much will they cost?
A: The memory cards will initially be available in 4gb, 8gb, 16gb, and 32gb flavors. I will NOT be listing prices here, as they only have a currently confirmed price in YEN! There has been a great deal of controversy on this board over pricing and what it will translate to in the states/Europe. I'm not going to add fuel to the flames. Nobody knows what the pricing will be, so speculating will only cause problems.

Q: What is the Vita's battery life?
A: The Vita's battery has been confirmed to last between 3-5 hours, and the battery is NON REMOVABLE.

Q: Can I use my old UMDs with the Vita? Is it backwards compatible?
A: Yes and no. The Vita can ONLY play PSP games that have been purchased off of PSN. It does not (and never will have) a UMD slot. The Vita utilizes a new game cartridge similar to that of Nintendo's products. Those cards will be available in 2gb and 4gb sizes at the Vita's launch, but is expandable for developers that have more ambitious game projects.

Q: Can the Vita play PSOne Classics?
A: At the time of the Japanese launch...no. It is confirmed to be available at a later time. Internet speculation is that they are working hard on a new emulation software which is why it's not initially available. It's unknown if it will be ready in time for the February launches or not.

Q: What are the Vita's specs?
A: On the outside (for those that aren't tech savvy and don't care about the internals) you get a 5-inch OLED Capacitive Multi-Touch screen (like the iPod/Iphone/Most smartphones), two analog sticks (not sliders/nubs), and a rear capacitive touchpad. On the INSIDE, it's sporting a 4 core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore CPU, 512mb of RAM, and a 4 core SGX543MP4+ GPU. It'll be running all this hardware at a resolution of 960x544. To wrap up the package you'll also get both a front and rear facing camera.

---------------------------------------------------------
II.ACCESS SPECIAL PS Vita OPTIONS
---------------------------------------------------------
While playing a PSP game hold the PS button for approximately 3 seconds to bring up several options. These options are: Enabling or disabling Bi-linear filtering, Mapping buttons to the Right analog stick, Selecting to use the front or rear camera, and enabling or disabling Color Space. Then tap the 'X' in the upper left hand corner to return to the game.

IV.VITA TV
--------------------------------------------------------------
What is Vita TV?
Announced on September 9th 2013, judging from the videos and press releases, it seems like a Vita micro console that's designed for your TV. It'll play some selected current and future Vita games. A future update to the console will enable the Vita TV to stream games from a PlayStation 4 console (on the same account and also connected to the same network).

When does it release?
Vita TV will launch in Japan Nov. 14 for around $100. That is a cheap way to start playing Vita games, but that version does not include the required controller. Sony is also selling a bundle that includes a controller and an 8GB Vita memory card for around $150.

Is it coming to my country/region?
For now the Vita TV is for the Japanese market only, but Sony has noticed the surprising interests and will gauge their own launch market sales for the future of sales in other countries/regions.

Can I import the Vita TV?
Yes you can. It is region free.

What Vita games can the Vita TV play?
The Vita TV will utilize the Dualshock 3 (PS3 controller) to play Vita games. Not all Vita games will be Vita TV experiences, but some will as well as the PSN store.
Note It remains to be seen if Vita TV will region lock itself, but it is unlikely, and hopefully your software works fine.

What PS4 games can the Vita TV play?
The Vita TV will utilize the Dualshock 4 (PS4 controller) to play PS4 games. It will not so much as play games as it will stream them from the currently inserted bluray or HDD memory most likely. You will also need to be using the same account over the same internet network in your home.
Note
PS4 Remote Play with VTV Limited to 720p

What are the specs?
60mm x 100mm in size.Vita TV has a slot for a Vita memory card up to 64GB in Japan. Vita TV has a slot for Vita games. HDMI output. Ethernet port. USB. Power port.
Note:
"Video output is HDMI only. Remote play can currently display at up to 1080i, but as the machine is still in development, this could be subject to change."

Why buy a Vita TV over the original Vita?
1- people who do not like handhelds/play at home only anyway or small screens
2- inexpensive despite possibly some Vita games not being available
3- Streaming services, maybe Amazon Prime or Netflix etc
4- alternative to people not wanting Apple TV or ROKU
5- from the demo commercial it seems you can stream your PS4 to another room. A great way to plug your PS4 in your primary entertainment room and stream it in another without carrying your system upstairs/downstairs/room-to-room

With the Vita TV you can play your Vita games from the comfort of your living space on the big screen then take your Vita handheld and continue that experience on the go without having wasted battery life.

inb4 banned.

Check the games in development section, for instance. Many games are now out in retail and no longer in development (year(s)).
