PSP 3004 4G Cannot update

Post by surya467 »

Hey guys
i have played a lot with the cfw's for the last 2 years and i ended up using a cfw on 6.20 firmware.
now the thing is, i had a perma patch applied but i dont remember which cfw was it of.Like which version.
my psp was away from 6 months and now i got it out.No idea whats up with it, i format the memory card and look to update to 6.60 with cfw c2

thing is, i cant update!
i cant update to any firmware, always says data corrupt.

so i had a feeling the perma patch was creating issues. i installed cfw 6.20 and the perma patch again and uninstalled it the right way.
still wont work

cant update the firmware!
I tried using the ofw via wifi update, that wont work too, always shows data corrupt.

any possible solution or do i have to stick with 6.20 ?

thanks

Use PSPident and check your motherboard and other stuff.

This sounds like a TA-095 motherboard of a 09g PSP 3000.

Ah, what I thought.

Before we try something, use this homebrew to create a nand dump: http://zload.net/v2/archives/file/?id=241726

Simply put it on your PSP, start it and follow the instructions to create an image of your PSPs nand.

Feel free to rename it to "6.20 perma" or something like that. It will be located in /nanddumps/ at your memory stick.

Just do not remove the extension (should be nand-dump.bin by default).

Then, we will try the following:

Use this before trying to update back to firmware 6.60: http://zload.net/v2/archives/file/?id=241692

Then run the 6.60 firmware updater and it should work: http://zload.net/v2/archives/file/?id=1660

If the update was successful, install the 6.60 LME-2.2 custom firmware, launch it and create a second nand dump.

Rename that second nand dump too, e.g. "6.20 lme-2.2" or something like that.

Why the nand dumps?
Why the nand dumps? Sometimes if you did a faulty downgrade with a 09g PSP 3000, you might be able to re-upgrade to 6.60, but you will not be able to re-re-downgrade back to 6.20.

A nand dump simply restores your device to a previous state (the device itself, not the memory stick), so updating/downgrading via nand dumps should always work.

BEWARE: Only use the nand dumps that you've created with your PSP, do NOT use foreign nand dumps, since those WILL destroy your PSP.

Only a pandora battery can restore a faulty nand dump restore. So just restore the dumps you've made yourself with your very own PSP.

Are you using an up to date PSP CFW?

Use this PSPident version: http://zload.net/v2/archives/file/?id=241687

You only need the "physical updater" if you device is a TA-095 PSP 3000, this is not necessary at TA-090v2 (03g), TA-092/093 (04g) or at any other PSP (1000, 2000, Go, E1000).
