Hi All,

OK I am having a bit of trouble with Dualshock 3 and PSPGo Pairing without a PS3

I am using Motioinjoy to connect the two devices. I am also using Win7.

In drivermanager I can see both devices & its sowing a tick as if they are both installed. When I go to the Bluetooth Pairing and click (Dualshock 3 and PSPGo Pairing). Dualshock 3 is in the top box but when I click PSPGo the box is empty????

Any ideas

sorry for the late reply.

motioninjoy is a mess. i have done it in windows 7 before but i tried many versions of it and reinstalled the drivers&motioninjoy more than once. unfortunately i can't remember the exact version which did the trick for me. all i can remember is it was a version close to the introduction of psp go bt pairing feature.

if you can reach a ps3, it would be much more hassle-free, it can be done about in a minute.

Is it possible for a homebrew solution?

I once made the mistake of using a DS3 which was paired with the Go and then used it with Vita TV which of course wiped the Go pairing. Then I had to find someone with a PS3 and re-sync.

So now I one DualShock 3 for PsP Go and one for Vita TV.

as far as i know (don't quote me on this) DS3 doesn't have a BT pairing mode like many BT devices. it can only be paired via USB mode and psp go lacks usb input (not counting the hard to find and bulky psp go converter cable which provides a mini usb)

so i doubt there will be a homebrew solution in the future. of course nothing is impossible.

what i hope is a pc/mac/linux application which works better than motioninjoy.

The Go does have a scan mode and can detect my PlayStation BD remote but fails when registering the device as its unsupported obviously.

I agree another pairing option for DS3 would be most useful.

As the Nintendo wii is cheap and plentiful with two usb ports maybe that could act as the middleman if there was suitable homebrew.

yup psp go does have a scan (or bt pairing) mode. it can perfectly pair with bluetooth headphones and some cellphones this way. it is dualshock 3 that lacks bt pairing mode without usb connection.

let's hope as you say we have a middleman with two usb ports. it was sony's fault to mandate to have a ps3 just to use ds3 in psp go

You're right and this makes sixaxis a little difficult to pair between different devices. Each time when I want to pair it with my android note 2 and PSP-go I have to change its bluetooth mac adress. Just 5 seconds work but you need to turn on pc and connect sixasis everytime.

I wonder if the new sixaxis 4 has such an issue too ?
