I have E3 Flasher and I want to downgrade my PS3, it's a Slim, originally 3.41 Firmware, cech 2504B, data code 0C.
I already checked that it's "downgradeable" however it's on 4.31 and I find mixed reports on whether it's safe to try downgrading from 4.31 or not.

So can anyone that actually did it, or at least is perfectly sure of it, is it SAFE to downgrade from 4.31?

I've been abit behind on things. Not used my PS3 in awhile, causing this guide to fall out of date.
I'll update to Rebug 3.55.3 tonight/tomorrow, then update my guide some to its new Rebug Selector and so on.
As for Rebug 4.21, well, not really going to go for that without a flasher, so, the guide won't really include it.

Edit: Updated. Hopefully I got all the terminology changes sorted out. (Kept going preview and spotting more 3.55.2 oopsies. *giggles*)

dont need a flasher for 4.21.1 rex
just make sure your qa flag is ON in 3.55 rex RB selecter then update
the downgrader for 4.21rex to 3.55rex works fine, just remember to dehash after downgrading

i think i posted a link for the qa-toggle in another thread some were

Rebug 3.55.3 can toggle QA in the Rebug Toolbox. The QA tool is unneeded.
As is, upgrading is of no value to me, and have no desire to do so just for the sake of being able to.

i have a few psn games so it was worth it to me for the psn access

i have a 40gig phat ps3 with 4.31 installed errrr is there anything i can do with it on the hacking side without having to resort to soldering. and is it worth hacking my ps3 and if i do, will i be banned from psn or what not?

the only non sodering thing is git a mb that is fw 3.55 or lower
as for is it werth it?? thats up to you

rebug 4.21.01 rex fw can access psn with no issues, (download, buy, ps+, all working)
the only big issue is that psn-ps2 games dont work

mb that is 3.55 or lower??? unsure what you mean mate. completely new to the ps3 sceen. i am using ofw 4.31 . is there a guide on how to do it or if some one here is willig to tell me how to do it. thanks

Only PS3s that could get to 3.55 can install CFW, since even the 4.XX CFWs require 3.55 in order to install.
So, downgrading with hardware flasher will be needed on your console to get to 3.55
