How to get ftp to work on Android?

Post by kazuunix9 »

I am away from my PC. I was wondering if any pro out there knows how to ftp transfer using Android. If so... What are the username and password? What port do I use? And how do I set one up on Android?

Im using android for ftp and it's working perfectly.
You have to get turbo client from playstore first. It's free!

Add account and add the ftp server info you got from molecular shell.

It's should connect and looks like this:

Add the vpk files in ux0 folder. Once you're done, disconnect and go to ux0 folder, your files will be there ready to install.

Thanks alot warlord111! For n00bs like myself and others, the number after the : is used as the port when setting it up.

Thanks for this. Have tried 3 different ftp clients that refused to connect. Turbo client only took a second. :D

Can confirm that Turbo client is the one you need. I tried other clients after noticing transferring too much data at once caused my phone to act strange and require a reboot, but no other client would connect. So when transferring a large amount of data, try to do it in smaller chunks if you can.

There should be a tutorial on how to use FTP from Vita to Android. I find it really handy to do now! I always got my phone on me and now I won't need to carry around a laptop to FTP with my Vita! :D

Thank you all! This is awesomeness!

Did you make sure you are on the same network? When setting up on Android make sure the host is the ftp address. Oh and the numbers after : on the ftp address are the port number. Sometimes it takes a bit to connect. If it still has problems delete the saved ftp and try again. Also leave the username and password blank.
