Hey guys, I'm here to release the new NES4Vita into the homebrew competition.

NES4Vita is a Nintendo Entertainment System emulator for the PSVita with Rejuvenate
It currently ONLY supports USA roms (and possibly EU) JPN & Unl roms are not working at all.

To install Roms, use FTPVita to copy them. They can be in the root directory, or anywhere else that you wish to put them.

Changes since NES4Vita v1.1:
  • Fixed the audio buffer overflow that caused all roms to crash at some point.
Known bugs:
  • On some roms the left and right edges of the screen will swap sides creating a somewhat distracting glitch, but is playable.
If you should find a bug that is not mentioned above, you can contact me on Twitter:

As soon as the first mushroom in Super Mario Bros has to appear, the Unity dev assistant crashes.
Didn't have any issue like that in 1.0

I have released NES4Vita v1.1.1

I apologize for that critical bug that went overlooked. It went unnoticed because on the roms I tested with, it wouldn't crash until 5 minutes or more passed.

This is a somewhat dirty fix. I will implement audio in a better way and try to improve audio quality. But for now, this works.

This is just an update with progress and info about this project:

The emulator I ported isn't the best. I didn't realize that until I got halfway into it. This is one of the reasons a lot of things still don't work. I was in the process of porting Nestopia while also working a little on a RetroArch port and trying to decide which one I should stick with. That decision has yet to be made and now that I've started College, I'll have less time to work on this. I had planned to release the next thing by the end of this month, be it the Nestopia port or the RetroArch port. I may or may not meet that deadline. I am by no means quitting this or anything, but you're not going to see me as much as you have been recently. See ya'll soon :)

Well, you can always sneak up your emu-project during those ***-easy, baby-language C#/java classes

Seeing as how this emulator only works with a small number of roms and still has issues, I would like to pull this from the competition. A partially working emulator does not deserve to be in a competition.

I have dropped support for this and will not fix the current known issues. There's not much I could fix other than rom saving. The issue with different types of roms is because the emulator that was ported doesn't support them. I have also stopped developing the Nestopia port I had been working on due to RetroArch being ported officially by the LibRetro team. (still being worked on)

So to Wololo / Mods: Please lock / delete this thread.
