{OPEN] Battery drain on power off or sth?

Post by makak1984 »

Hi,
My Vita have strange behaviour... It almost always was used with the adaptor. When I was on 3.51 and used email tricks( I do not know if it was caused by hacks), vita on battery was strange it drains quickly (on standby after ~1/2 day no wifi or 3g) after drain the clock resets... And after power off vita also drains battery after (~2-3 days)... now on 3.60 it remains the same (I use HENkaku on it to emulate).

I've done factory reset after update to 3.60... Hardware isue but what hardware issue, maybe battery or sth with system (not fully turned off or sth), i hope that some devs make some measure app where I could mark processes that causes drain etc.

EDIT: Still after maybe ~20 hours Vita is out of juice...

Any ideas?

Batteries degrade over time, or can degrade faster depending on environmental factors.

"It almost always was used with the adaptor" It is not a good thing to do with li-ion battery, with li-ion you should "never" let it fully discharge, and as "my upper" neighbour says battery degrade over time.

sorry for my bad english

I know that bateries degrades, but strange is why Vita drains battery during the full power off...

I have had a similar problem, what fixed it for me was opening my Vita, disconnecting the battery and putting it back together after a few minutes. Try that, or doing a full charge cycle (let it discharge and then charge it to 100%)

My case isn't (I think) same as what they call "vita battery glitch etc... But I will try disconect battery, i haven't any idea what else is causing it, also I am waiting for some homebrew that could measure battery parameters...

Hi i have the exact same problem. Vita3g completely charged and powered off in airplane mode.
After 1 day power it up its lost 10 percent charge.
After 3 days power it up only 20 percent left
After 5 days its dead.

I changed the battery, no change
I changed the motherboard, no change

Now i left out all the 3g bits and its holding the same charge (50 percent) for the past 3 days.
So now I'm going to stick the simcard bit back in and see what happens, but i suspect the wireless card is the culprit. Already ordered a replacement from ebay to double check.
