Re: why release the exploit? @wololo

Maybe, though I recall it took several weeks for Sony to remove and patch Hot Shot Golf: Open Tee from the PSN when it was announced to run HBL on 6.31 imo, they were moving a bit slower then to patch a user-mode exploit they knew no piracy would come from. this is the first exploit on the new syst...

Re: How do Exploits work?

TiPi just published a nice tut concerning exploits on the psp: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=9753 all consoles are different. the theories are all the same, but how they are executed will vary depending on the console. if you'd like to learn a little about exploiting in general, TiPi's...

Re: PSP 3000 Semi-Brick (5.03)

What about launching the chickHEN eboot (the new one that is signed) from HBL? That should work since is a user mode homebrew (it gains kernel mode via an exploit but it shouldn't matter if it was launched from the XMB or HBL). I tried it. It just returns to the XMB and crashes. :( that's what chic...

Re: PSP 3000 Semi-Brick (5.03)

I connected my PSP to PC (USB DEVICE option was "flash0") and replaced the prx. I was using 5.03 GEN-C (a temporary firmware) firmware at that moment. well, then you'll need to repeat those steps to replace the original prx (which hopefully you kept a backup copy of). i suggest you launch chickHEN,...

Re: PSP 3000 Semi-Brick (5.03)

hm... seems like a difficult situation. i'm not sure if updating the official firmware would help or not. the tricky part is that any method of fixing this could cause you psp to lose even more functionality if you're not careful. how did you replace the prx the first time? did you have chickHEN loa...

Re: Installing the PSPSDK (Linux or Windows)

i poked around on the scripts, and it seems the same change needs to be made with gdb-6.8 and insight-6.4. just add the a in the scripts and they should work '007-gdb' script needs to be modified. All references to gdb-6.8 should be changed to gdb-6.8a, except the 'cd gdb-6.8'. thanks for the info....

scumbag user: asks about progress [insert hat here] complains about it not being interesting (probably because he/she doesn't understand it).
