[Development thread] VHL : Vita Homebrew Loader

So, as some of you might have seen on my twitter, I've been working on an alternative to UVL for about a week now. Today, with menu support finally working, I'm releasing beta builds for VHL and a version of psp2shell modified to launch homebrew with the start button. There may still be many issues,...

Re: Which hombrew you would like to have on incoming exploit

I'd like to see some sort of dev environment to dev for the Vita on the Vita, as crazy as doing any sort of programming on a 5 inch screen might sound...

Re: gamecube emulator for ps vita?

As a rule of thumb (pun intended ;) ) a device needs to be about 10 times as capable as the device it's trying to emulate. There are obvious exceptions like when the instruction set is the same or similar, or if you can get some kind of hardware acceleration.

Re: State of "the scene"?

Also, you would have to be blind to not see that the PS Vita is near 'death'. Sony did not give it the support it needed, and it will probably soon end up like the Dreamcast. I don't really agree with that. The Vita has as many upcoming games as any other well doing console. Yes, Sony didn't give i...

Re: State of "the scene"?

I fail to see why its inefficent to do so, It seems quite logical to me. It's inefficient because you're being forced to hack the loader to make it launch a different piece of code instead of what's already there. The other option was to ask TN to do it (giving him the kexploit, which would later b...

would be more convenient to load PSP from a bubble.
Nope, you can't do that yet. The method is still private.

Re: State of "the scene"?

Its ironic because TN is known for not willing to share his code so other develpors could continue maintaining it when he is no longer at the scene.(and it happens quite often..him leaving and joining the scene) Its his right to do so, though, and he actually seems like a good guy so yeah no compla...

Re: State of "the scene"?

I think it's because TN happens to have a reputation for also only working for the fame. He's left the scene saying something would be the last version and then returned tons of times. Not to mention all the propaganda with the TN-V updates (1 daily, with a blog post for each). Also, IIRC partnershi...
