Could you give links to tutorials/books where I can learn the MIPS IV. Thanks in advance (BTW, Wikipedia says the Motorola 68000 is a CISC).

How is C not tied to specifc processor?

This has bugging me for a while, now.

Why is C not tied to a specific processor, I just can't get my head around it. Maybe someone can shed some light on this.

I know assembly is tied to a certain processor so why not C?

But then I found out that you can't program in C++ on the psp but you can program in C and use class's and include the standard C++ libaries. plus if you know C++ then learning C should not be too hard.
