Important
If you get a weird purple screen when you start the game, try to relaunch it a couple time to see if it fixes the issue. This bug will be fixed in the next release.
There has been several reports of the game crashing at startup. If you have such an issue, please go to the following thread to get solutions to your problem.
General Game issues
- Options: Audio volume is either 0 or 100%, other values actually put the volume at 100%.
- Buttons for "interrupt" and "go out of graveyard" conflict
- Colored artifacts are displayed with a golden frame in text mode. Will be displayed with a frame of their color in next release.
- mp3 sound files with an id3v2 tag cannot be played.
- Momir mode is not playable on new profiles (no deck).
- Decks generated for Random Deck mode have only 38 cards (should be 40).
- Sound Samples may not play anymore after a while (reported on the PSP).
- Tapped creatures are displayed as untapped after their controller changed.
- Themed Fonts aren't loaded correctly.
- Tokens are sometimes displayed with blurry images or no images (despite having images for them installed).
- Vertical closed hand: Sometimes you can't navigate to the cards in your hand. Opening and re-closing the hand (pressing R twice) solves the issue.
PSP Specific issues
- Purple Screen of Despair]
- The PSP was reported to crash whenever 75+ or more mana were produced in one turn. The user who reported this had mana display on "Both" and sound effects switched on.
MTG General Rules/abilities issues
- Mulligan is not implemented
- Game Phase issues: You can play spells in phases that shouldn't allow it. Also, it's not possible to play at the end of the opponent's turn (but you can add the line "interruptEndTurn=1" - without the quotes - to the file Res/player/options.txt to fix that).
- Blocking modifiers: when using cards like: auto=target(creature[blocking]) 4/4, you can put your creature into "block mode", give it +4/+4, then remove it from combat - and it will still have the +4/+4 modifier.
- Several Cantrips draw cards for the wrong player.
- Creatures which can't attack alone, can't block alone, or have similar limitations, can circumvent their limitation by first choosing another attacker/blocker, then legally choosing the creature with the limitation as attacker/blocker, and then removing the first creature as attacker/blocker.
- Deathtouch: Free assignment of damage to blockers isn't implemented.
- Double Strike: a creature with double strike that has been blocked shouldn't be able to assign its "second" damage to a player, unless it has Trample.
- Exalted should be a triggered ability
- Fear Creatures with Fear were reported to be blockable by non-black, non-artifact creatures. Note: We couldn't reproduce this as a general effect. There were however some creatures which head their "Fear" ability not specified in their card code. This issue will be removed from the list if we don't get a reproducible bug report about a general Fear blocking problem by the next release.
- First Strike always supersedes Double Strike. If a creature managed to gain both abilities, then it will only deal First Strike damage.
- Kicker: Game crashes when the AI gets certain kicker cards in its hand. This didn't affect any AI decks that shipped with 0.9.1 (as the respective cards were kept out of the AI decks), but could surface in random deck mode.
- You can regenerate a creature that was killed with wither (-1/-1 counters)
- Regenerate does not protect from Cockatrice-type effects
- Retrace is not implemented
- Assigning Trample damage may crash the game.
- Auras/effects that add an ability/remove it don't correctly stack. For example, casting Pacifism on a blind spot giant, then having a giant coming into play will not have the expected result. Another example is if you have two goblin kings in play and one gets killed: some goblins will not have mountainwalk anymore.
- Tokens don't go to the graveyard although they should (they then should get removed from the graveyard as a state-based action). The difference is that tokens should trigger "whenever a creature goes to the graveyard ..." and similar triggers, which they currently don't.
- Triggers triggering on "when ... enters the battlefield" trigger erroneously when a permanent's controller changes.
- AI memory to assess the danger of creatures based on previous encounters isn't working correctly, as a consequence the AI never tries to block one attacker with multiple blockers.
Specific Card issues
- Acceptable Losses (ODY) can be cast from an otherwise empty hand without discarding a card. Card cannot be coded correctly and will be removed in next release.
- Alluring Siren (M10) cannot use its ability at all.
- Legendary cards with Animate Dead cast on them don't get buried when the Legendary rule takes effect.
- Aura Mutation - cannot target non-aura enchantments for destroying
- Beacon Hawk (DIS) doesn't have Flying
- Bloodhall Ooze receives an additional +1/+1 counter, outside of upkeep, if it has been on the battlefield for at least one turn, and a green or black creature gets summoned. This only affects the first Bloodhall Ooze (if you have several) and only affects it once.
- Brass Man: can untap in any phase.
- Brass Man: trying to untap brass man with no mana and outside of the upkeep phase crashes the game.
- Bravado gives incorrect bonus if cast on an opponent's creature (but works correctly if cast on one's own creature, which you usually want to do with this card).
- Cage of Hands (CHK): When trying to use the "Return Cage of Hands to its owner's hand." ability, the enchanted creature gets returned (instead of the enchantment), and the enchantment then goes to the graveyard as an orphaned aura. This also affected other cards with this ability, e.g. Shimmering Wings.
- Circle of Protection cards cannot select sources which have protection from white (or whatever color the CoP card has)
- Clone: cannot copy creatures with shroud. This also affects similar cards (e.g. Sculpting Steel)
- Clone and similar cards cause an endless loop when the AI tries to cast them.
- Consume Spirit can use non-black mana.
- Copy Enchantment (RAV): Copied auras cannot be attached to anything and stay on the battlefield unattached. Copying a "take control" type aura crashes the game. Card cannot be coded correctly and will be removed in next release.
- Crystal Rod (RV) cannot be activated
- Curiosity (EXO) has no effect (doesn't let you draw a card).
- Cursed Land (RV) may trigger in the wrong player's turn.
- Dark Banishing (MIR) cannot target anything and goes directly to the graveyard.
- Disrupting Scepter When activating its ability, it does not allow for choosing a target. Does very briefly display a red rectangle around the whole screen. Does not use mana from manapool. Card cannot be coded currently and will be removed from the game.
- Dragon Whelp does not get destroyed after pumping it more than four times in the same turn.
- Drain Life can use non-black mana.
- Drain Life was reported (once) to crash the game.
- Dream Fracture (EVE) lets the caster draw two cards, and the controller of the countered spell doesn't get to draw a card.
- Ebony Horse can target anything.
- Ekundu Cyclops (MIR) attacks whenever another creature of its controller is present (not only when such a creature attacks).
- Enervate (ICE) cannot tap cards.
- Casting Enslave crashes Wagic.
- Devastation (POR) doesn't do any damage.
- Erg Raiders: If no combat at all took place during the turn, then Erg Raiders will not deal damage to its controller.
- Fable of Wolf and Owl (EVE) creates bird tokens without flying.
- Fallowsage (LRW) allows endless card drawing and loops the AI.
- Fire Tempest (POR) doesn't do any damage.
- Forbidden Lore (ICE) cannot be coded correctly, card will be removed in next release.
- Gamble (USG) has a slightly wrong sequence of actions, it has you discard a card from your hand before adding the new card to it.
- Glasses of Urza: can be put in play but don't do anything when activated. Card cannot be implemented correctly at the moment and will be removed in the next release.
- Glen Elendra Archmage (EVE): Using its Fizzle ability may crash the game.
- Glimpse of Nature (CHK) doesn't let you draw cards. Card cannot be coded correctly and will be removed in next release.
- Hideous End (ZEN) deals damage to the caster, not the target's controller.
- Hypnotic Specter: Discard ability doesn't trigger.
- Instill Energy: Can be cast, but does nothing to target.
- Karn's Touch (MRQ): Target artifact doesn't become a creature
- Kazuul Warlord (ZEN): Ability doesn't trigger when the card enters the battlefield.
- Kjeldoran Frostbeast (ICE) functions like a Basilisk or Cockatrice in Wagic. This is not entirely correct, it should only destroy creatures that it's actually blocking (or being blocked by) at end of combat.
- Kris Mage has an incorrect mana cost.
- Krovikan Fetish (ICE) cannot be coded correctly, card will be removed in next release.
- Kudzu: Works, but tapping a land with two Kudzus cast on it crashes the game.
- Living Artifact: Was reported to give you one life whenever a card is tapped. This couldn't be reproduced, however now Living Artifact seems to have no effect at all.
- Mark of Mutiny (ZEN): Targeting doesn't work correctly (should target creatures, and only creatures).
- Merfolk Wizard (ZEN): Ability has wrong activation cost (should be 2U, is just "tap").
- Casting Mind Shatter (MOR) crashes the game.
- Casting Mind Spring crashes the game.
- Nezumi Cutthroat (CHK) doesn't have Fear
- Nimbus Maze (FUT) has its mana producing abilities reversed.
- Path of Peace (USG/POR) gives life to the caster, not the target's controller.
- Pillory of the Sleepless (GPT) may trigger in the wrong player's turn.
- Using the ability of Psionic Sliver [TSP] crashes Wagic. The card cannot be coded correctly and will be removed in next release.
- Casting Rain of Filth (USG) crashes the game after selecting the land to be sacrificed.
- Ray of Command (ICE) cannot take control of enemy creatures in the opponent's turn.
- Reign of Terror (MIR) cannot be coded correctly, card will be removed in next release.
- Casting Resuscitate (EXO) and then trying to use the Regenerate ability (which it grants) for a creature crashes the game.
- Rockcaster Platoon (ALA): ability doesn't do any damage.
- Seismic Spike (RAV) gives mana to the controller of target land, not to the caster.
- Shadowmage Infiltrator (ODY) doesn't have Fear
- Shield of the Ages (ICE) doesn't prevent any damage.
- Siege-Gang Commander works, but the sequence of commands is redundant. You have to (1) tap the necessary mana, (2) click on Siege-Gang commander, (3) specify a target, (4) click on a goblin to sacrifice, (5) specify the target again. The same is true for similar cards, like Golgari Rotwurm.
- Tokens created by Sliversmith (FUT) aren't artifacts (but should).
- Solemn Simulacrum (MRD): card goes immediately to graveyard after being played.
- Sonic Burst (EXO) can be cast from an otherwise empty hand without discarding a card. Card cannot be coded correctly and will be removed in next release.
- Soul Net: Was reported not to work in the opponent's phase. Checking revealed that it currently cannot be activated at all. Card cannot be coded correctly and will be removed in the next release.
- Casting Spirit Link on an opponent's creature causes the opponent to gain life rather than me.
- Squirrel Mob (ODY) has power/toughness 1/1 instead of 2/2.
- Spontaneous Generation (MRQ): Saprolings created by this card aren't green and aren't creatures (but should be both).
- Stern Marshal (POR): Ability can be activated anytime you have priority.
- Summoning Stonebrow, Krosan Hero crashes the game.
- Sword of the Chosen (STH) has an incorrect mana cost
- Sylvan Scrying (MRD) doesn't work.
- Sylvan Basilisk (10E) destroys creatures blocked by it, and receives damage from creatures blocking it.
- Symbiotic Beast (ONS) puts its 4 insect tokens into play when it enters the battlefield, not when it goes to the graveyard.
- Thalakos Seer (TMP) doesn't have Shadow
- Trygon Predator (DIS) doesn't have Flying
- Twitch (10E) cannot tap cards.
- Undermine (INV) deals damage to the caster, not the target's controller.
- Utvara Scalper (DIS) doesn't have Flying
- Vampire Bats (LEG/10E) are reported to be pump-able more than twice per turn, but this couldn't be reproduced.
- Wall of Wonder (LEG) gets +4/+4 from its ability insted of +4/-4.
Legend
In green : Bugs that should be fixed in next release
In blue: Bugs that couldn't be reproduced in current development version. This could mean that another bugfix fixed them without us noticing it, or that the bug never existed, or that the bug is a side effect of something else that cannot be tested easily. In that case, if you have that bug and know a way to reproduce it, please shout. :)
